St. Bonaventure's College Choirs Biography
The Choral Music Program at St. Bonaventure’s is one of the hallmark activities at our school and commences in Kindergarten. The choirs include: Kindergarten, Primary, Elementary and Elementary Chamber. The Junior/Senior High choirs are: Madrigal Singers (SATB), Senior Treble Voices (SSAA) and Camerata (SSA). Students with an interest in choral performance have the opportunity to join any of several choirs which perform both in the school and the community.
St. Bonaventure's College Wind Ensemble Biography
St. Bonaventure's College is a Kindergarten to Grade 12 School with an enrollment of 370 students. It is a Catholic School in the Jesuit Tradition. The school's Band Program is an integral part of the school curriculum, with an 80% participation rate. The St. Bonaventure's College Wind Ensemble is the premier concert band at the school and one of seven instrumental ensembles in the band program. The touring group consists of 38 students from the ages of 10 to 17.
Over the past twenty years, the Wind Ensemble has garnered an impressive assortment of awards at local, national and international levels. In 2004, the ensemble won the CBC Radio Provincial Band Competition. The Wind Ensemble received the highest score at the All-American Music Festival in Orlando, Florida in 2007. It was also awarded the Most Outstanding Band Award at the Heritage Music Festival in Anaheim, California. The Wind Ensemble has been the recipient of the Instrumental Group Rose Bowl at the Kiwanis Music Festival ten times. This year's Greece Tour will be the Wind Ensemble's fifth European performance tour. The group has performed for both Pope Francis and Pope Benedict and their video of the CBC Olympic Theme was aired during the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics.
